The themes that are addressed include aging, dialogue, social realities, interpersonal conflicts, gender, trust, love, loss, morality and humor.
More than 20 pieces will be on display at our second location on 5a. Avenida Norte No. 29, by the Arch of Antigua.

What better words to speak about this exhibit than the words of the main artist:

 “Nos-Otros”
Nos-otros is an exploration of the processes used by creative people, especially visual artists, working together and of the consequences of their collaboration. While explicit collaboration among equals is the norm in most human activities - in business, science, social activities, music, dance, film, and most others - it is relatively uncommon in the visual arts. In the name of “authenticity” and “originality”, visual artists (like authors) generally are expected to practice solo creation.
In this project one sculptor (Keith L. Andrews or KLA) works with a diversity of men and women, young and old, from five nations, using different media, sharing a diversity of visions and involving many working processes. The themes that are addressed include aging, dialogue, social realities, interpersonal conflicts, gender, trust, love, loss, morality and humor. Sorry, there’s nothing decorative here.
As the result of the results and lessons that emerge from the collaborations among artists of various disciplines and outlooks, we can attempt to answer questions like:
What happens when two or more artists who have never worked together conceive of and carry out an original creation? What are the steps and missteps in arriving at a decision regarding the project? What tensions arise? How is the practice of each artist affected? How does each artist remain true to a personal vision while being respectful of and learning from the other? How does interaction create new practice? What kinds of synergies are possible? How much does one find out about one’s self by going outside of one’s normal area of comfort? How does the artist remain true to core values while growing by working with another? What are the implications of the answers to these questions for other creative human interactions?

In this exposition there are a total of 22 pieces.
Five pieces are created by one sculptor (KLA) working one-to-one with five different painters.
Three works come from the collaboration of three sculptors each working on an individual project with KLA.
There are two works that result from the collaboration of KLA with photographers.
KLA, a figurative sculptor, works with two conceptual artists.
KLA “illustrates” the work of one renowned novelist.
Three young female Guatemalan hip hop feminist musicians work with KLA as an old expat sculptor. One world famous poet unknowingly works with KLA on a project.
In addition to the 15 interpersonal collaborations, there are four examples of intrapersonal alliances. In these subpersonalities of KLA work together.

KLA’s previous one-person shows have included My Secret Life; Contextos/Con textos; Un Pedacito de Nosotos; Mujeres; and Lies, Gags, Screams and Really Good Taste.
He has participated in more than 20 group shows in the USA and throughout Central America.
His work is found in private collections in Germany, Great Britain, Italy, USA, and at least five Latin American nations.
